![]() No regrets there.Ĭlick to expand.I think the thread's been off-topic for a hot minute, but the topic wasn't really addressed well. Ended up cancelling them all for an exclusive e7-v2 (450usd) in the end. However it turned out to have bad reviews and even placed an reservation for gmmk pro 75 (170usd). I actually started off with kdbfan bella (330usd) as my initial keyboard. However it has issue with losing connection in wired mode. Iquinix f80/a80 is pretty attractive too at its pricing with hotswap/aluminum/pbt keycaps and three modes (2.4ghz/bluetooth and wired). The prebuilts are getting features seen in higher end and they are all rgb too compared to top end (i dislike rgb). Little modding (extra foam) is only needed to make it sound better. Best deal of the group at 170usd for q1 and includes everything (stabilize/switche/keycaps/gx-16 coiled avaitor usb) and is hotswap/aluminum. I actually suggest if on budget looking at keychron q1 at starter. The industry changes fast on these things. Stabilizers gone from zeal v2 to durock v3/oa v3. In the time i started planning i went from glorious pandas to zykos (hybrid of pandas/zeal v2) to boba u4s tactile switches. This way you don't pay the "small production run tax" and have access to readily available PCBs if you make a mistake and burn a trace or do an oopsie and break it (or it's just defective, it happens).Ĭlick to expand.I actually started off with kdbfan bella (330usd) as my initial keyboard. But, R2 starting at $345USD for a large production chinese manufactured custom? On the other hand, this would have been value pricing for korean customs since they use to be very exclusive runs with high manufacturing If you're looking to get into keyboard building I'd suggest cheaper kit options from sties that keep kits stocked (KBDfans, Divinkey, ymdkey, etc.) rather than waiting on a group buy. I could may be understand the pricing on R1 since it was a small production (from what I can find), but it still seems unusual for a chinese manufactured custom (around 6 years ago, chinese customs topped out at around $250USD for a low production run). ![]() "Resell Value - $740-840 (could be more, these are new colorways that haven't been introduced to the market yet) " ROFL, that's not happening for years if it's a large production run, unless the market really has lost it's mind.
